Six Mustangs receive All-GPAC honors; Wanderscheid named top coach

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Six Morningside University women's golfers were named All-Great Plains Athletic Conference selections Friday, including four first-team honorees. Head coach Nick Wanderscheid was also named the GPAC Coach of the Year.
Morningside's first-team selections included Lucy Brown, Macy Button, Ivanna Becerra-Diaz and Kamryn Zuniga.
Brown closed the season with seven straight top-20 finishes, highlighted by a runner-up finish at Morningside's home spring quad and a third-place showing at the GPAC Championships late last month.
Button recorded four top-10 finishes during the 2025-26 season, including an eighth-place finish at the GPAC Championships at Dakota Dunes Country Club.
Becerra Diaz opened the year with back-to-back top-five finishes during the fall schedule before adding a fifth-place finish at the GPAC Championships.
Zuniga earned GPAC runner-up honors at the conference meet and also captured medalist honors at the Mount Mercy Invite during the fall season.
Alysen Sander and Aidan Sander were both named honorable mention selections.
Morningside won the GPAC Championship by 25 strokes and closed the spring season with victories in three of its final four tournaments.
