Mustangs dominant in Iowa Lakes Invitational

Starting individual events, Haley Snawerdt and Emma Larsen took first and second place with times of 2:12.81 and 2:13.23 in the 200-yard freestyle.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Makenna Laher and Maya McReynolds also scored first and second place points with times of 27.06 and 28.86.
The 100-yard freestyle had a one, two, three sweep by the Mustangs. Megan Keller touched first with a time of 1:00.01, Laher placed second, just half a second behind Keller, with a time of 1:00.48, and Larsen came in third with a time of 1:02.88.
In the 1000-yard freestyle Kirstin Verplanke took first touching the wall at 12:03.95, Payton Miller came in second with a time of 12:41.96, and Amber Westerberg finished third with a time of 12:57.10. The same trio repeated a podium sweep in the 500-yard freestyle with Verplanke finishing first at 5:54.87, Snawerdt in second with a time of 5:57.86, and Miller third at 6:24.44.
Morningside had a clean sweep of first and second in the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay.
The 200 medley relay of Rachel Roose, Grace Holzerland, Maddy Slaughter, and Mackenzie Campell were the first place finishers with a time of 2:01.08. Sydney Lueth, Mcreynolds, Haley, and Keller touched the wall second at 2:04.69.
The first place finishers for the 200 freestyle relay consisted of Laher, Campbell, Holzerland, and Slaughter, touching in a time of 1:49.08. Roose, Keller, Larsen, and Verplanke touched the wall at 1:52.40.
The Mustangs will be racing in their home pool in the Hindman-Hobbs Center on Nov. 11 and 12 for the Mustang Invitational.
