Coelho Leads Morningside Women in Strong Showing at St. Ambrose Dual

Freshman Leonor Coelho led Morningside with a pair of runner-up finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (26.27) and 100-yard freestyle (56.68). She also anchored the Mustangs' 200-yard medley relay that placed third in 2:02.03 with teammates Jaden Ochsner, Lily Schwickerath, and Elena Santelli.
Ochsner and Santelli added third- and fourth-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke with times of 1:09.03 and 1:09.08, respectively. Freshman Lily Jackson contributed key points with a pair of third-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (2:19.49) and 500-yard freestyle (6:04.70).
Sophomore Schwickerath scored in multiple events, placing sixth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:03.80), while junior Delaney Biesecker provided depth with consistent swims in the backstroke and distance races.
Morningside capped the meet with a third-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay, as Coelho, Santelli, Jackson, and Ochsner combined for a 9:02.19.
The Mustangs return to action Saturday, Nov. 8, traveling to Omaha to face the College of Saint Mary Flames at 1 p.m.
