OMAHA, Neb. — The Morningside women's swim team continued its early-season slate Saturday, falling 147-46 to College of Saint Mary in a dual.
Junior Alice Mahoney highlighted the meet for the Mustangs, winning the 100-yard breaststroke in 1 minute, 14 seconds and adding a fourth-place finish in the 200 individual medley. Freshman Leonor Coelho turned in a pair of strong swims, taking second in both the 200 freestyle (2:05.82) and 100 butterfly (1:07.24).
Olivia Ramaeker and Delaney Biesecker gave Morningside additional points in the sprint events, finishing third and fourth in the 100 freestyle, while freshman Elena Santelli placed third in the 500 freestyle and fourth in the 100 backstroke.
The Mustangs capped the day with a runner-up finish in the 200 freestyle relay, as Coelho, Mahoney, Ramaeker, and Biesecker combined for a 1:48.75 mark.
