Mustangs collect multiple Top 3 finishes
MORRIS, Minn. — The Morningside women’s swim team collected several top-three performances Saturday in a 132-55 loss at Minnesota Morris, highlighted by a strong opening relay and multiple individual scoring swims.
MORRIS, Minn. — The Morningside women's swim team collected several top-three performances Saturday in a 132-55 loss at Minnesota Morris, highlighted by a strong opening relay and multiple individual scoring swims.
The Mustangs opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay, as Jaden Oschner, Alice Mahoney, Leonor Coelho, and Elena Santelli combined for a 2:01.28 finish.
Freshman Leonor Coelho led the individual results, winning the 100 freestyle in 55.96, while Olivia Ramaeker added third in 59.35. In the 50 freestyle, Ramaeker placed second in 27.13 with Delaney Biesecker close behind in third at 27.82.
Morningside picked up key points in the 100 backstroke, where Oschner finished second (1:08.70) and Santelli took third (1:08.80). Distance scoring came from Lily Jackson, who placed third in the 500 freestyle with a 6:05.14.
The Mustangs closed the meet with a runner-up performance in the 200 freestyle relay, finishing in 1:47.17.
