Mustangs Win Three Events in 2026 Debut

The Mustangs picked up multiple individual victories and a relay win while facing a deep Minnesota Morris lineup. Morningside opened the meet with a strong showing in the sprint events, led by freshman Leonor Coelho, who won the 50-yard freestyle in a provisional qualifying time of 25.55 and later added a victory in the 100 freestyle, touching first in 56.37.
Elena Santelli earned a win for the Mustangs in the 200 freestyle, finishing first with a time of 2:08.91. Santelli also added points later in the meet with a third-place finish in the 500 freestyle.
Morningside closed the meet on a high note in the relays, as the "A" team of Coelho, Santelli, Olivia Ramaeker, and Delaney Biesecker finished second in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:47.45, narrowly trailing Minnesota Morris.
Additional scoring performances for the Mustangs came from Jaden Ochsner, who placed second in the 100 backstroke, Lily Schwickerath in the 100 breaststroke, and Ramaeker in the sprint freestyle events.
The Mustangs end their regular season on January 24 in a dual with Nebraska Wesleyan before heading to the KCAC Championships in February.
