Mustangs fight for win in GPAC women's tennis opener

SOUTH SIOUX CITY, NEB. – Morningside picked up a win in its 2024 Great Plains Athletic Conference opener today, defeating Concordia, 6-1.
The Mustangs took the doubles point on a trio of wins from Emily Clotfelter and Macy McDonald (6-1), Line Jensen and Delfina Stuzynska (6-2), and Jil Hellerforth and Annika Meisel (6-4).
The Mustangs silenced the Bulldogs' bark in singles play, too, taking five out of the six draws. Jensen started the party with a 6-1, 6-2 win. Hellerforth followed with a 6-4, 6-2 victory and Meisel sealed the team win 6-3, 6-1. Suarez added a 6-0, 6-0 victory and Stuzynska wrapped the match with a 6-2, 6-4 win.
Morningside is back at home on Friday, March 29, playing Grand View at 1 p.m.
