Mustangs Begin Busy Week with Win Over College of Saint Mary

OMAHA, Neb. – Morningside embarked upon a string of three women's tennis conference matches inside of seven days today, starting off the series with a 7-0 win over College of Saint Mary.

The Mustangs got the match headed in the right direction with a sweep of doubles play, with Lara Heinrich and Helene Kreibich winning 6-2, Stefany Simplicio and Bianca Seminario Pinheiro Costa matching with a 6-2 win, and Line Jensen and Brooke Marshall collecting a 6-4 win in the no. 1 position.

Marshall followed the team's success in doubles with a singles win, 6-3, 7-5, in the no. 3 position. Krebich kept CSM off the board with a quick 6-1, 6-3 victory, and Heinrich secured the team win with a 6-3, 6-4 win at no. 2.

Jil Exelmans kept the shutout alive with a 7-5, 4-6, 6-2, three-set victory. Jensen followed with her own three-setter, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2; and Simplicio completed the sweep, 6-0, 6-0.

The Mustangs host Doane next, with the matchup scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Mason Family Tennis Complex.
