Sachs, Smith among Top 5 finishers at Dordt Open

Sporrer crossed the line during the mile-long run in 5:11.54, placing second overall and posting a mark that currently ranks ninth in the NAIA, setting the tone for a meet filled with several Top 5 performances by the Mustangs.
Morningside continued to shine in the 600 meters, where Morgan Sachs earned a third-place finish in 1:43.97, a time that ranks No. 36 nationally. Kylin Smith followed closely behind with a fourth-place effort of 1:46.05, currently 48th in the NAIA.
In the 800 meters, Nicole Zuehl added another Top 5 result for Morningside, placing fifth in 2:28.84 and earning an NAIA No. 39 ranking. The Mustangs' distance depth was on full display in the 1000 meters, led by Madison Sporrer, who finished third in 3:07.95, ranking 11th nationally, while Estefana Beisswenger placed fourth with a time of 3:14.62, good for No. 19 in the NAIA.
The night concluded with Morningside's 4x400 relay team finishing fourth in 4:26.66, adding another NAIA-qualifying mark to a strong overall performance. The four runners were Ava Lang, Breyer Anderson, Nicole Zuehl, and Natalie Point.
The Mustangs' next competition is Friday at Mount Marty.
