Women's Track & Field Builds Momentum at Dennis Young Classic

Freshman Estefana Beisswenger led four Mustangs to the top 10 in the mile, taking the top of the podium with a time of 5:21.06. Gabby Ryan followed in fourth at 5:25.32, Nicole Zuehl in sixth at 5:30.66, and London Rogge crossed in seventh in 5:33.82.
Ava Lang took third in the 400 meters ahead of a pack of Dordt runners in 1:02.31. Meredith Draper ran an 8.40 60 meters to take fourth in the finals. Karmen Buschkamp and Natalie Point finished third and fourth in the 3,000 meters, crossing in 12:02.65 and 12:04.73, respectively.
Maddy Stanek was fifth in the shot put with a throw of 10.25 meters. She placed ninth in the weight throw with a mark of 12.42 meters, while Shelby Mills finished sixth with a 13.97 meter throw.
The Mustangs also turned in a season best in the 4x400 meter relay, as Lang, Madison Sporrer, Breyer Anderson, and Beisswenger turned in a time of 4:19.86.
Morningside competes again next week at the Concordia Classic on Friday and Saturday in Seward, Neb.
