Five First-Place Finishes Highlight Mount Marty Last Chance Meet
YANKTON, S.D. – Five Mustangs took the top spot in Morningside’s final tuneup tuneup before the Great Plains Athletic Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championship, which take place at Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, next weekend.

The opportunity to improve seed times proved worthwhile, as Courtney Sporrer's first place time of 2:17.48 in the 800 meters was her top time of the season, registered second in the GPAC, and bested the NAIA B standard. Morgan Sachs came second in 2:20.58 to sit eighth in the conference.
Madison Sporrer took first in the 1,000 Meters in 3:04.84 to register the no. 7 time in the league. Estefana Beisswenger placed second in 3:14.17, which is good for no. 23. Nicole Zuehl took third in the event with a time of 3:18.56.
Gabby Ryan took the top place in the mile, finishing in 5:33.11. London Rogge was first in the 3,000 Meters with a time of 11:36.85. Carmen Buschkamp placed first in the 5,000 meters, winning in 21:10.82.
Shelby Mills, Aleena Edwards, and Kambrie Fulton each threw their season best in the weight throw at the meet, with marks of 14.62, 12.84, and 11.24 meters, respectively.
Meredith Draper also recorded her top time in the 60 meter dash, crossing the line in 8.41 seconds.
The GPAC Championship meet will get underway on Friday with multi-events. Morningside's events will get underway on Saturday, with field events getting their start at 10 a.m.
