4x800 Meter Relay Attains All-America Accolades
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Mustangs etched a few more names in program history this week at the 2026 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Women’s Indoor Track and Field National Championship, setting a new school record in the 4x800 meter relay in prelims and claiming All-America status in the event, placing sixth with a time of 9:11.74.

Morningside ran the no. 3 time in the meet as it won its preliminary heat yesterday, clocking a 9:04.56 and setting a school record on their way to the finals. Morningside's relay team is composed of Morgan Sachs, Madison Sporrer, Jolee Mesz, Courtney Sporrer, Ava Lang, Nicole Zuehl, Estefana Beisswenger, and Gabby Ryan.
The Mustangs also competed in the preliminary heats of the distance medley relay, running a 12:36.04 in the opening heat, which was eighth in their heat and 14th overall. The top three times in each heat and next fastest four moved on to the finals in the DMR. Beisswenger, Kylin Smith, Lang, Ryan, Zuehl, Courtney Sporrer, Madison Sporrer, and Jolee Mesz fill that relay's roster.
Morningside is scheduled to open its 2026 outdoor season on March 27 and 28 at the Wildcat Classic in Wayne, Neb.
