Women's 4x800 qualifies for NAIA nationals

KANSAS CITY, MO. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced the qualifying field for the 2023 NAIA Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field National Championships today, including Morningside's entry in the 4x800-meter relay. 

The Mustangs reached their season best in this year's Great Plains Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, where the quartet of Courtney Sporrer, Taylor Sporrer, Michelle Sanchez, and Emily Chicoine ran a 9:27.34. The time, good for second place and all-conference honors in the GPAC, ranks no. 18 nationally. Monica Olson joins the squad as an alternate for nationals.

This year's 2023 NAIA Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field National Championships are being held at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind. from May 24-26.
