Field event delegation dominates Morningside lineup at Wayne State

Field events dominated the lineup for Morningside's delegation at the Wayne State Classic. Jacee Tindall took sixth in the javelin throw with a throw of 34.17 meters. Aleena Edwards finished no. 13 with a 30.22 meter effort. Edwards was the top Mustang in the hammer throw, placing 26th, with a throw of 40.67 meters.
At the long jump pit, Kinsey Alt finished eighth with a leap of 5.04 meters.
Jillian Fierro led the Mustangs in the 1,500-meter run, the lone track event that Morningside completed at Wayne. Fierro placed 20th in the event with a time of 6:05.20. Ella Stapek was the next Mustang in 23rd at 6:38.01 and Abbie McLaughlin was 24th in 6:54.13.
The Mustangs are also competing in the Central Methodist Invite in Fayette, Mo., this weekend which wraps up later today.
