Kinsey Alt led Morningside's efforts as she took third place in the long jump, splashing down in the sand with a jump of 5.62 meters.
A pair of Mustangs had strong finishes in the 800 meter run, too, where Morgan Sachs placed fifth with a time of 2:19.91. Jolee Mesz finished less than a second later, placing seventh with a time of 2:20.71.
Morningside will stay in familiar territory this week, as it competes in the first Sioux City Relays on the resurfaced track of Elwood Olsen Stadium.
