Ryan's school record highlights Sioux City Relays weekend

Courtney Sporrer led the Mustangs with a standout weekend, highlighted by a victory in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:09.58. The senior also added a third-place finish in the 1,500 meters, crossing in 4:47.98 to score in two distance events.
Morningside placed two runners in the Top 10 of the steeplechase, as Natalie Point finished eighth in 13:35.29. In the 10,000 meters, the Mustangs again showed depth with two Top 8 finishes, led by Gabby Ryan, who placed seventh in 39:14.08 — a new school record. London Rogge followed in eighth at 39:19.56, giving Morningside a strong distance showing.
The Mustangs also found success in the middle distances, with Jolee Mesz and Morgan Sachs both finishing inside the Top 10 in the 800 meters. Mesz placed seventh in 2:18.18, followed closely by Sachs in eighth at 2:18.29, both posting NAIA Top 25 marks this season.
In the 1,500 meters, Mesz added another Top 10 finish, placing 10th in 4:55.48, while multiple Mustangs turned in personal-best performances throughout the event.
In the field, Aleena Edwards led the way with a third-place finish in the javelin, reaching 33.19 meters (108-10) to give Morningside a podium finish outside of the track events.
The Mustangs also earned a Top 8 finish in the 4x400-meter relay, as the team of Ava Lang, Madison Sporrer, Nicole Zuehl and Estefana Beisswenger placed sixth in 4:23.34.
