Smith, 4x800 Compete on Day 1 in Asheville
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Mustang women got their first look at this year’s stage at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Women’s Track and Field Championship as Kylin Smith competed in the 400-meter hurdles and the 4x800 meter relay team took its laps.
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Mustang women got their first look at this year's stage at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Women's Track and Field Championship as Kylin Smith competed in the 400-meter hurdles and the 4x800 meter relay team took its laps.
Smith placed 15th in the 400 hurdles, recording a career best time of 1:01.47. The freshman improved upon her seed time of 1:02.53, which was no. 25 entering the field.
The 4x800 meter team, consisting of Morgan Sachs, Madison Sporrer, Nicole Zuehl, and Jolee Mesz ran a time of 9:17.33 to place 21st in the event. They entered in the 25th spot, with a time of 9:23.94.
Morningside's women's team also qualified Courtney Sporrer in the steeplechase. That event will get underway at noon central time tomorrow.
