The Vikings beat the RV Mustangs (1-4) by set scores of 19-25, 25-20, 25-20 and 25-22.
The Mustangs took the first set by jumping out to a 7-2 lead, with kills by Miller, Miyah Whitehead and a service ace by Aubrey Sandbothe. They also closed out the set with a Miller kill, a kill from Adelyn Harris, and a hitting error by the Vikings. Audrey Waido had assists on both kills.
Morningside hit .536 during the first set.
Miller was the lone Mustang to reach double figures in kills, finishing just two shy of tying the NAIA-era program record for a four-set match. Emma Gerber set the mark with 22 kills in 2018.
Waido had 34 assists, and Morningside totaled 49.
Defensively, Sandbothe led in digs with 13. Emma Haren had the lone solo block, while the Mustangs had four assisted blocks.
Morningside's next match is Friday is at 2 p.m. Friday vs. RV The Masters at the College of Saint Mary Tournament in Omaha.
