Mustangs' strong finish seals win over Lancers

The Mustangs (6-4) won by set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 22-25, and 25-12.
In the first set, Morningside scored six of seven points, and that stretch saw two kills from Jacey Miller and Emma Haren, while Kyla Dyrstad recorded a service ace. They put up three consecutive points to clinch the set, including an ace by Miller. The Mustangs hit .306 during the opener.
Morningside climbed to a 7-1 lead to spark a victory in the second set. Payten Lode had two kills in that stretch, while Aubrey Sandbothe had an ace.
Morningside closed out the match by scoring four of the last six points. Victoria Bouska had back-to-back kills to secure the match. The Mustangs hit .270 in set 4.
Lode hit .317 and led the Mustangs with 18 kills. She also had 10 digs. Haren turned in a .361 clip and had 15 kills.
Kyla Dyrstad recorded a team-high 44 assists, while Audrey Waido had nine.
Sandbothe sank in to record 19 of 57 total team digs. Adelyn Harris led in blocks with 3.5 total blocks.
