SIOUX CENTER, Iowa — Morningside defeated Dordt 25-15, 25-21, 25-27, 25-22 on Saturday to earn its fourth Great Plains Athletic Conference victory of the season.
The Mustangs (9-5, 3-1 GPAC) hit .344 in the opening set to establish momentum, then closed out the second frame behind steady attacking. Dordt (11-4, 2-2) rallied in the third, pulling out a 27-25 win, but Morningside sealed the match in the fourth.
Emma Haren paced the Mustangs with 13 kills and five blocks, while Payten Lode tallied 14 kills, 12 digs and two aces. Sidda Hagedorn contributed nine kills, and Adelyn Harris added six with four block assists. Setter Kyla Dyrstad finished with 44 assists, 16 digs and three aces.
Morningside closed the match with 49 kills on .209 hitting, while Dordt was held to a .079 attack.
