Rubio earns pin for Mustangs against Warriors

FREMONT, Neb. — The Morningside women's wrestling team fell on Tuesday to Midland, 32-16, in Great Plains Athletic Conference dual action.
The Mustangs had eight ladies in the lineup, and two of them — Taylor Pavlik at 180 pounds and Nevaeh Hast at 207 — won by forfeit.
Elizabeth Rubio earned a win at 131 pounds, as she earned a win by pinfall in 1 minute, 45 seconds. She led 10-0 when she pinned her opponent.
Alyssa Olson also earned a team point during the 110-pound match.
Morningside competes at home next week, as it'll welcome Waldorf on Dec. 11 at 5 p.m. in the Rosen-Verdoorn Sports Center.
