Morningside voted sixth in preseason GPAC poll

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — The Morningside University women's cross country team on Tuesday was voted sixth by coaches around the Great Plains Athletic Conference in the preseason poll.
Morningside received 74 points in the poll, just four behind Northwestern at fifth. Dordt and College of Saint Mary received the first- and second-most points.
The Mustangs finished fifth in last fall's GPAC Championship meet with three finishers in the Top 30. Their top finish came with a fourth-place showing at the Sunflower Opener last September at Dordt.
Morningside opens the season Fri., Sept. 5, in Sioux Falls at the Augustana Twilight Meet.
