SIOUX CENTER, IOWA – The Mustangs faced their second ranked opponent of the football season today, soundly defeating no. 21 Dordt on the road, 49-21. Morningside held the Defenders scoreless into the second half of the contest.

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The latest edition of the Morningside-Northwestern rivalry game lived up to its billing as the no. 1 and no. 3 teams in the nation clashed in a week one matchup in Elwood Olsen Stadium. As expected, it came down to the wire, with Northwestern with 4:02 left on the clock, but leaving the Mustangs with the ball and a 30-29 advantage as time expired.
