GREENWOOD, IND. – Two Morningside men’s swimmers landed on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the CSC announced earlier this week. John Spicer and Alejandro Plaza represented the Mustangs on the team.
WICHITA, KAN. – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference has released its list of all-conference performers for the 2025 Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship, recognizing the top point scorers at the championship meet.
Spicer swam in the 200-yard freestyle race on Saturday, and in the preliminary round, he clocked in at 1 minute, 41.78 seconds. That was good for 18th place.
Spicer qualified for tthe 50-yard freestyle, the 100 freestyle, and the 200 freestyle in the NAIA men’s swimming and diving championships, which started Thursday at Bethel University (Ind).
KANSAS CITY, MO. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its Daktronics Scholar-Athletes for men’s swimming, releasing this year's list alongside the other winter sports.
John Spicer recorded the highest individual finish for Morningside, taking second place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1 minute, 41.52 seconds. He also placed third in both the 100 free (46.07) and the 50 free (21.07).

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside ran the table in its home men’s swimming debut, touching the wall first in all 11 events held in the Hindman-Hobbs Center’s pool on October 26. The Mustangs won the day’s dual against Iowa Lakes, 157-31.
FREMONT, NEB. – The Mustangs made their debut for the 2024-25 swim season, competing against their Great Plains Athletic Conference rivals in Fremont, Neb. John Spicer headlined the meet for Morningside, collecting a pair of first place finishes.
