Mustangs pile up points in win over Cougars
MORRIS, Minn. — The Morningside men’s swim team earned a 125-96 dual victory over Minnesota Morris on Saturday, piling up top-three finishes across the lineup in one of its most complete efforts of the season.

The Mustangs opened with a win in the 200 medley relay, as Santiago Vilches, Justin Bay, Pedro Fernandes, and John Spicer posted a 1:38.65. The "B" relay — Jake Bolda, Alessandro Zoccolan, Melle van Veen, and Hunter Henrich — added second place in 1:42.57.
Morningside swept the podium in the 200 IM, led by Vilches in 1:59.58, followed by Zoccolan (2:00.36) and Bolda (2:07.23). The Mustangs repeated the sweep in the 100 butterfly, where Fernandes won in 52.31, with Bay second (54.50) and Keaten Rieken third (57.33).
Spicer picked up another win in the 100 freestyle (48.08), followed by LaRue (49.36) and Mateus Kozlowski (50.85).
In distance events, Zoccolan won the 500 free with a 5:00.85, while Alejandro Plaza recorded second in 5:17.35.
Morningside closed the meet with a win in the 200 freestyle relay (1:28.22) and a third-place showing from its "B" relay (1:33.33).
