Lutz leads Mustangs in loss to Ottawa
OTTAWA, Kan. — Liam Lutz led the Morningside University men’s volleyball team in kills in a three-set loss to Ottawa on Saturday. The Braves swept the Mustangs by set scores of 25-22, 25-23, and 25-20.

OTTAWA, Kan. — Liam Lutz led the Morningside University men's volleyball team in kills in a three-set loss to Ottawa on Saturday. The Braves swept the Mustangs by set scores of 25-22, 25-23, and 25-20.
Lutz hit .310 en route to a 13-kill match. Mohamed Benkrid and Donte Jennings each had 10 kills, and Benkrid hit .333. Lutz had a kill in the second set that put the Mustangs (9-10) up 23-22, but the Braves scored three straight to take the frame.
Morningside hit .216 as a team.
Jacob DePauw had a team-high 39 assists.
Donte Jennings led the Mustangs with 10 digs, and he had the lone solo block. Ian Smith had 2.0 total blocks.
The Mustangs return home to resume Heart of America play with a 7 p.m. Tuesday match in Allee Gymnasium against Dordt.
