Garcia, Tsatiris contribute to Senior Day celebration

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Morningside capped Senior Day with a 2-0 win over College of Saint Mary on Saturday, staying unbeaten in the month of October and another Great Plains Athletic Conference shutout at Elwood Olsen Stadium.
The Mustangs struck early when Trinay Garcia scored in the seventh minute off a double assist from Keyera Harmon and Melissa Tsatiris. Tsatiris later doubled the lead in the 54th minute, finishing a pass from Mia Stoffel to make it 2-0.
Morningside controlled possession throughout, outshooting the Flames 19-4 and holding a 4-2 edge in corner kicks. Harmon led the attack with five shots, while goalkeeper Moriah Dixson stopped both attempts she faced to earn the shutout.
Before kickoff, Morningside recognized seniors Dixson, Lily Sidel, Stoffel, Harmon, Tsatiris and Sami Murray for their contributions to the program. The group helped lead the Mustangs to one of their strongest conference campaigns in recent years.
