Mustangs Show Off Deep Lineup in 5-2 Win Over Kansas Wesleyan
SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. – After checking in at no. 25 in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics preseason poll, Mustangs got home play underway with a 5-2 victory over Kansas Wesleyan in women’s tennis.

Morningside got off to a strong start as it took the doubles point, winning all three draws. Bianca Seminario Pinheiro Costa and Sophia Guntren made quick work of the no. 3 pairing, winning 6-0. Line Jensen and Brooke Marshall followed with a 6-3 win at no. 1, and Kailee Bailey and Jil Exelmans wrapped up the series with a 7-5 win.
Helene Kreibich added a quick 6-0, 6-0 win at no. 2 singles to push the needle in Morningside's favor. Lara Heinrich won 6-1, 6-0 at no. 1, and Exelmans picked up a win 6-1, 6-3 at no. 4 to secure the team victory. Ellie Peterson put a bow on the win for the Mustangs with a 7-5, 6-0 win at no. 6.
Morningside heads to Kearney, Neb., on Sunday to play McPherson at 8 a.m. and Nebraska-Kearney at 2 p.m.
