Mustangs Return Home with 7-0 Sweep of Bethany
SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. – Morningside tennis got an extended weekend’s worth of matches started this evening with a 7-0 women’s victory over Bethany.

The Mustangs started the match strong with a sweep of doubles play, as Lara Heinrich and Helene Kreibich won 6-2 in the no. 2 spot, Line Jensen and Brooke Marshall won in the no. 1 spot, 6-0, and Jil Exelmans and Ellie Peterson completed the sweep, 7-5, at no. 3 doubles.
Morningside remained dominant in singles play, as Kailee Bailey hit the scorebook first, winning 6-3, 6-0. Kreibich followed with a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the no. 3 position, and Heinrich gave Morningside a 4-0 advantage with a 6-0, 6-3 win at no. 1.
Stefany Simplicio checked in next, after winning the no. 5 match 6-1, 6-0. Marshall was the penultimate point for the Mustangs, as she won the no. 2 match 6-1, 6-2, and Peterson kept Bethany off the scoreboard with a 6-3, 6-3 win in the no. 6 position.
Morningside's men will play Bethany tomorrow at 10 a.m. before both teams play Ottawa on Sunday morning, beginning at 8 a.m.
