ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Mustangs repeated a win from the fall’s matches today, picking up a 6-1 victory over Missouri Baptist today. The Mustangs toppled the Spartans, who were receiving votes in the latest National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics rankings, 6-1.

Morningside got the momentum headed in their direction out of the gate, with Line Jensen and Brooke Marshall winning at no. 1 doubles 6-3 and Kailee Bailey and Stefany Simplicio winning at no. 3, 6-4.
Lara Heinrich kept the Mustangs on the move, winning 6-2, 6-2 in the no. 2 singles position. Jensen followed with a 6-4, 6-0 win at no. 1, and Bailey clinched the match with a win at no. 5, 6-2, 6-2.
Helene Kreibich extended Morningside's advantage with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 win and Brooke Marshall added a victory 3-6, 7-5, with a 10-5 super tiebreaker.
The Mustangs' schedule features one more countable non-conference match on March 14 against Bethel of Kansas, before conference play begins on March 21.
