Women's Tennis Shuts Out Hastings in Road Finale

HASTINGS, Neb. – The Mustangs again clinched at least a share of the Great Plains Athletic Conference regular season title, as they swept Hastings' Broncos, 7-0.
Morningside quickly picked up the doubles point, sweeping the doubles set with wins by Lara Heinrich and Helene Kreibich at no. 2 (6-1), Kailee Bailey and Stefany Simplicio at no. 3 (6-2), and Line Jensen and Brooke Marshall at no. 1 (6-2).
In singles play, Marshall delivered a quick decision in the no. 3 position, 6-0, 6-0. Kreibich followed, winning 6-1, 6-0 at no. 4. Jensen followed with a win at no. 1 to clinch the match, winning 6-4, 6-2.
Heinrich added to Morningside's margin of victory, picking up a 6-2, 6-3 win at no. 2. Bailey returned to the Mustangs' lineup with a 6-1, 6-1 singles win, and Simplicio clinched the match, winning 6-3, 6-1.
Morningside will look to take the outright GPAC title on Saturday, as Midland comes to town in the Mustangs' regular season finale.
