SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Avoiding the season sweep isn’t something that has been on the brain much for the Mustangs this season, as the men’s basketball team has been able to pick up wins against most conference opponents in the first half of the season. Unfortunately for Morningside fans, Northwestern, one of only two teams to claim Great Plains Athletic Conference wins in the first part of the season, completed the sweep in Allee Gym, 78-74.

Mustangs open 2023 with GPAC victory

FREMONT, NEB. – Morningside’s men’s basketball team took the court for the first time in more than two weeks, hoping to continue the success that they saw in the 2022 part of this campaign. The Mustangs, opening today’s contest with a 9-0 run, didn’t look like they were missing much as they cruised to an eventual 88-81 victory.

Offensive explosion pushes Mustangs past the century mark

MADISON, S.D. – Morningside eclipsed the 100-point mark for the first time this season as it defeated Dakota State’s Trojans in men’s basketball yesterday, 102-76. The Mustangs had 10 players score in the contest, including three in double digits.

The home-court advantage that the Mustangs have experienced this season held true, as the home team upset Concordia 69-62 in men’s basketball action.
