CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Morningside suffered a hard-fought loss this evening at no. 11 Mount Mercy, falling to the Mustangs 3-1.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa — The Morningside men’s volleyball team showed plenty of grit Tuesday night, rallying from a 12-point deficit in the third set to sweep Graceland at Allee Gym.
ST. LOUIS -- The Morningside men's volleyball team dropped a four-set decision to Missouri Baptist on Saturday afternoon, falling 25-23, 15-25, 25-21 and 25-21.
The Mustangs totaled 41 kills and hit .184 as a team, but their defense and net presence proved decisive. Morningside recorded 52 digs and nine total blocks, limiting UHSP to a .058 hitting percentage, including a negative clip (-.077) in the third set.
Morningside (13-2, 2-1 Heart of America) defeated the Vikings by set scores of 21-25, 25-23, 25-12, 14-25, and 16-14.

The Mustangs (12-1, 1-0 HAAC) defeated the Defenders 18-25, 25-21, 25-23 and 25-23. After dropping the opening set, Marasco-Ayau reminded his team of the relaxed approach that has fueled its success early in the season.

The Mustangs open the season Friday after narrowly missing a berth in the Heart of America Conference Tournament a year ago. Morningside finished the 2025 season 13-14 overall, including eight wins in league play.
